01 — Services

Medical and surgical eye care.

We focus on the conditions that matter most to adult and senior patients in the Treasure Valley — and we coordinate every step of your care, from your first exam to surgery and follow-up.

01

Cataract Surgery

Advanced lens replacement with premium IOL options performed at our own surgery center.

Most patients are back to daily life within a day or two and notice brighter, sharper vision the same week. We offer monofocal, toric, multifocal, and extended depth of focus (EDOF) lens options.

02

Glaucoma Management

Early detection, medical therapy, and minimally invasive surgical options to protect your vision.

Routine pressure monitoring, optic-nerve imaging, and visual-field testing — paired with the right treatment plan for the stage of disease.

03

Comprehensive Eye Exams

Thorough evaluation of vision, eye health, and screening for age-related conditions.

Annual exams catch cataracts, glaucoma, macular changes, and diabetic eye disease early — when treatment is most effective.

04

Dry Eye Treatment

Targeted relief from chronic dryness, irritation, and fluctuating vision.

We diagnose the underlying cause — meibomian gland dysfunction, evaporative, or aqueous-deficient dry eye — and build a treatment plan that actually works.

03 — FAQ

Common questions.

Don't see your question? Call us — our front-desk team is happy to help.

Do you accept Medicare and most insurance?
Yes. We accept Medicare and are in-network with most major insurance carriers in Idaho. Our staff will verify your benefits and walk you through any out-of-pocket costs before your procedure.
How long does cataract surgery take?
The procedure itself takes about 15 minutes per eye. Including check-in, prep, and recovery, plan to be at the surgery center for about two to three hours. You will need someone to drive you home.
Will I need new glasses after cataract surgery?
It depends on the lens you choose. Many patients select a premium intraocular lens that reduces or eliminates the need for glasses for most activities. Dr. Ostler will discuss your options at your consultation.
Where is surgery performed?
All surgical procedures are performed at Vision Care Center of Idaho — our dedicated ophthalmic surgery center. You'll meet the same team that cares for you in the clinic.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
Typically, no referral is needed for a routine exam or a cataract consultation. If your medical plan requires one, our team will help you obtain it.
