Erik M. Ostler, M.D.

Ophthalmologist · Cataract & Refractive Surgeon

Dr. Erik M. Ostler is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Medical Director of Vision Care Center of Idaho. His practice is built around accessibility and individualized care.

Training

Originally from Bountiful, Utah, Dr. Ostler completed a fellowship at University Hospitals Case Western Reserve Medical Center in Cleveland, where he received advanced training in glaucoma and complex cataract surgery. His ophthalmology residency was at Saint Louis University and his internship at St. Luke's Hospital, both in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine, and also holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in biomedical engineering from Utah State University.

Experience

Dr. Ostler has performed more than 5,000 cataract procedures, with a focus on premium intraocular lens implants selected to match each patient's vision and lifestyle. He has also performed thousands of glaucoma procedures to help preserve vision and improve quality of life.

Outside the clinic

Dr. Ostler and his wife, Mindy, are raising their four children in the Treasure Valley, and spend much of their free time at the kids' sporting events and music performances. He enjoys gardening and mountain biking.

Dorian Rammell, O.D.

Dr. Dorian Rammell is an optometrist who has spent 17 years working closely with ophthalmologists. He is proud to serve the Treasure Valley and looks forward to helping patients reach their best possible vision.

Training

Dr. Rammell earned his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, and his Bachelor of Science in biology from Idaho State University.

Experience

Early in his career, he provided comprehensive eye care at a maximum-security state prison in Wisconsin. Since then he has co-managed pre- and postoperative care across a wide range of procedures, including cataract, glaucoma, and retina surgery.

Outside the clinic

Dr. Rammell spends his time with his wife, Desiree, their four daughters, son-in-law, and grandson, and enjoys hiking, traveling, and the outdoors.
